My first trip with Benny to the Santa Monica Pier was
full of yummy surprises!
We started out with an ice cream social at the carousel
building, where we tried the new Dreyer’s Frozen Custard.
Inside the carousel building is a vintage ice cream bar.
That’s where Benny and I shared a Peanut Butter Pie frozen custard cup…sooooo
good.
At the ice cream social, we were allowed to ride the
carousel as often as we pleased…but Benny and I only rode it twice because
Benny wanted to run all over the place and participate in a bunch of other
activities!
I have to say, hats off to Dreyer’s for making a quality
product.
The frozen custard is extra thick and creamy and made
with fresh milk (yum). Plus, it has no artificial flavors!!
Once we left the carousel building, we headed off to the
arcade and spent plenty of time on coin-operated machines.
Then we walked over to the “Pacific Park” area where I
wanted Benny to continue enjoying the sights, neon colors and camaraderie of this
busy Los Angeles County pier.
When we made it to the carnival game area, I spotted the
ring toss challenge and bought a bucket of red plastic rings for $6.
I figured, heck, this will entertain Benny for a while.
But before I had a chance to explain the concept of the
game to my son, whaddaya know?? Benny
landed a ring on a bottle!!!
Everyone cheered for him and we got to bring home a giant,
stuffed chocolate donut with pink sprinkles.
It was a fun Saturday afternoon indeed!

Mi
primer viaje con Benny al muelle de Santa Mónica estuvo lleno de deliciosas
sorpresas!
Empezamos
con un evento social, en el edificio del carrusel, donde probamos el nuevo helado
“Dreyer’s Frozen Custard”.
Dentro
del edificio del carrusel hay una barra de helados muy antigua y encantadora.
Ahí fue donde Benny y yo compartimos un helado con sabor a crema de cacahuate...
muuuuuuuy rico (Por cierto, el nuevo “Dreyer’s Frozen Custard” viene con seis
sabores diferentes).
Durante
el evento social, se nos permitió montar el carrusel tantas veces gustáramos
... pero Benny y yo sólo aprovechamos el juego dos veces porque el niño quería
correr por todas partes y participar en un montón de otras actividades que tenían
disponibles!
Tengo
que decir, me quito el sombrero por el producto de calidad que ha creado Dreyer’s.
El helado
“frozen custard” es cremoso y espeso y elaborado con leche fresca (mmm). Además,
no tiene sabores artificiales!!
Una vez
que salimos del edificio del carrusel, nos dirigimos a la sala de juegos y
pasamos mucho tiempo en las máquinas que funcionan con monedas.
Luego
caminamos a la zona de "Pacific Park" donde quería llevar a Benny
para que continuara disfrutando de las vistas, colores de neón y la camaradería
de este concurrido muelle del Condado de Los Ángeles.
Cuando
llegamos a la zona de juegos de carnaval, vi el reto de los anillos y compré una
cubeta de anillos de plástico rojo por $6.
Pensé,
caramba, esto va a entretener a Benny por un tiempo y luego nos vamos a casa.
Pero
antes de que tuviera la oportunidad de explicar el concepto del juego a mi
hijo, empezó a aventar los anillos y ¿a que no creen que pasó? Benny le atinó y
uno de los anillos que aventó cayo justo sobre el cuello de una botella!
Todo el
mundo le aplaudió y terminamos con una gigantesca donut en casa.
Que
tarde tan divertida…
