| Benny's Baby Room |
My little bundle of joy that was so playful and restless even at 5 months old, is now a toddler running around the house and showing boyish hints that his bedroom needs to be transitioned from an innocent Pinocchio-themed nursery to a more vibrant and colorful boy-cave.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to start on this new home project until the Fall although we're going to start clearing up his room little by little.
For now, here's a little glimpse of Benny's nursery.
Since this room used to be a guest bedroom with black furniture, I saved myself from spending too much money and simply purchased a black crib and matching diaper changing table; kept the walls a soft tan color and bought crib bedding and curtains to match.
I embraced the idea of Pinocchio for Benny because I thought about the famous quote from the good-natured Jiminy cricket: "Always let your conscience be your guide" and I truly imagined that one day my little baby would grow into a 'real' boy.
And he has.

Benny ya no
es un bebé.
Mi pequeño bomboncito
de alegría que era tan juguetón e inquieto incluso a los 5 meses de edad, es
ahora un niñote que corre por toda la casa y muestra señas de que ya es tiempo
que su dormitorio evolucione de una guardería con temática de Pinocho inocente a
una recamara más vibrante y colorida que combine con su personalidad.
Desafortunadamente,
no voy a poder iniciar este nuevo proyecto en el hogar hasta el otoño.
De hecho, estoy
posponiendo varios otros planes y proyectos de verano, pero con tiempo
completaremos todos los planes.
Por ahora,
aquí les comparto un pequeño vistazo del cuarto de Benny.
Antes de
que naciera mi niño, el cuarto era una habitación para huéspedes con
muebles de color negro. Me ahorré en los
muebles y simplemente compré una cuna y una mesa para cambiar pañales del mismo color; manteniendo las paredes de un tono cafecito suave. También compré un
juego de cobijas y cortinas que combinaran con los tonos.
Me encantó
la idea de Pinocho para Benny porque pensé en la famosa cita del grillo de la película
que le decía: "Siempre deja que tu conciencia sea tu guía" y
realmente le decoré su habitación imaginando que un día mi pequeño bebé se convertiría
en un niño "verdadero".
Y no cabe duda que ya lo es.
