She asked if I could find out about Disney’s new Hawaiian
Princess.
I know very little about her but after some research,
here’s the scoop— there’s a huge Disney movie project underway expected to be
completed by 2018 about a Polynesian girl named “MOANA”.
FYI— To be Polynesian means to be a descendant from
either Samoa, Hawaii, Cook Islands, New Zealand, Tonga, among other hundreds of
islands scattered in the central and southern Pacific Ocean.
It’s not clear whether Moana will be an actual princess
but this is what insiders are sharing:
*Moana will be a "mythic adventure set around 2000
years ago and across a series of islands in the South Pacific."
*"Moana is a sea-voyaging enthusiast, and the only
daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators."
*"When her family needs her help, she sets off on an
epic journey. The film will also include demigods and spirits taken from real
mythology."
The other few things I learned were that the movie will
be directed by John Musker and Ron Clement, the duo behind other Disney
animated hits like Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and The Princess and the Frog.
Back in September, John Musker spoke on the record and
basically said that Moana will be a "Polynesian musical," adding that
"animation and music go along together."
WOW!!!!
Only FOUR years to go before we can get all the details.

La semana pasada recibí mi primera solicitud para
“Disneylunes” de una lectora del blog (gracias, cariño)
Ella me preguntó que si
le podía averiguar sobre la nueva princesa Hawaiana de Disney que está en
desarrollo.
La verdad es que sé muy poco acerca de ella, pero después
de algunas investigaciones, aquí les paso el chisme – Resulta que Disney tiene
un enorme proyecto de película en curso que piensa concluir para el año 2018
sobre una muchacha polinesia llamada "MOANA " .
Para su información, ser Polinesia significa ser
descendiente de cualquiera de las siguientes islas: Samoa, Hawái, Islas Cook,
Nueva Zelanda , Tonga, entre otras cientos de islas esparcidas en el Océano
Pacífico central y meridional.
No es claro si Moana será una princesa, pero esto es lo
que están compartiendo los que tienen conocimiento del proyecto:
Moana será una "aventura mítica que se lleva a cabo
hace 2000 años a través de una serie de islas en el Sur Pacífico."
"Moana es una entusiasta del mar - viajera , y la
única hija de un jefe en una familia de navegadores".
"Cuando su familia necesita de su ayuda, ella se
embarca en un viaje épico. La película también incluirá dioses y espíritus
tomados de la mitología real".
Los otros breves detalles que aprendí fueron que la
película será dirigida por John Musker y Ron Clement, el dúo detrás de otros
éxitos animados de Disney como Aladino, La Sirenita y La princesa y el sapo.

proyecto y dijo que Moana será una cinta "musical de la Polinesia",
